During construction of our new website I transferred the Gallery from our old site. This contained photos taken at prizegiving dinners and individual awards etc being presented.
My wife, observing at the time, remarked "If you wish to show photos of members at prizegiving parties/dinners etc on the website do you have to have that persons or groups permission, before going public?
I was not sure.
Has any one come across this question before?
Not a lawyer but no, unless you were trying to sell the images it would be normal. Members are I believe usually very tolerant of this and expect any club to do this. You could always change the club rules to add a line about possible use of media online.
Interested to hear how other clubs deal with this…
Any thoughts @Ian Collins?
